#77 Web TV: How to Improve Your Golf Game from the Tee to Green

How to Improve Your Golf Game from the Tee to the Green

After last weeks tip about your golf game on the green and how to analyze it better, I received an overwhelming response about how it is not the putting game that is letting the players down, it was the approach shots into the green.

That was an interesting exercise wasn't it?

Today we are going to take a look at your shots from the tee to the green.

Majority of golfers love to get out and play golf, expect to play well, not really sure why they don’t play well, get frustrated, carry that frustration to their next round…don’t perform well and the cycle continues.

Are you as frustrated as last week or are you becoming more aware?

Well I want to show you how you can take charge of your game from the tee to the green and again there is a really important and valuable exercise I want you to do.

If you choose not to do this exercise, you will just have to accept the skills set you have and live with the scores you get.

If you choose to do this exercise, congratulations because this will be your next step to really getting to understand your golf game.

Shall we begin?

This is what I want you to do;

  • You will need an A4 sheet of paper.
  • On that A4 sheet of paper you will need 4 columns.
  • 1st Column is numbers 1 to 18 to represent 18 holes.
  • 2nd Column is amount of shots from tee to green.
  • 3rd Column is the par of that hole.
  • 4th Column is did you Par that hole?

When you play your next game, on each hole you want to record how many shots it took you to get to the green.  After you have then finished your hole I want you to record all other information from your sheet.

Just record all the info when you are recording your golf score at the next hole when you are waiting to tee off. Do it as you go, don’t wait until you have finished your round, as you won’t remember.

Once you have finished your round, take a look at each hole, and look how many shots it took you to get to the green.

If there a pattern there?

If you are experiencing more than two shots on par three hole, more three shots on a par four hole and more than four shots on a par 5 hole, then it is time to do some work on your golf swing.

It will be interesting what you have come up with…

I am looking forward to you sharing with me below how you saw your golf game this week.

Here is to you and how to improve your golf game from the tee to the green.
