#73 Web TV: Here's Why You Should Keep Your Club Face Straight in Your Golf Swing

Here's Why You Should Keep Your Club Face Straight

In today's tip I want to share with you why you should keep your club face straight.

When you hit your golf ball do you know why it went straight, or right or left?

If you don't know then it might be a good idea to find out why!

When you view the video above when I show you want to do...you will be really surprised how simple it really can be.

In order to get the ball to go straight...you need to make sure that the club face is actually square or straight. It needs to be facing in the direction that you want the ball to go.

Do you see your club face when you hit the ball?

Perhaps not...it is like a blur really. But, you can see the club face when the iron or wood comes forward to make contact with the ball.

And this is the plan!

So, when you take your set up, ready to hit the ball...this is what you want to do here.

Perform your golf swing, so take the club back into the top of your swing, bring the club down to make contact with the ball...now when you make contact with the ball you want to see the club face actually hit the golf ball. I know you may say it is a blur but if you really concentrate on it...you will see the club face.

Now once the club face has made contact with the ball...your head still wants to stay down looking at the ground for as long as possible afterwards.

When you look up after the ball has left the club face...that ball should be nice and straight. If it is not then check what you club face is actually doing when you make contact with the ball.

This is a way to hit the ball nice and straight...always start from the club face first. Remember though that this is not the only answer to hitting the ball straight...there could be a few other areas in your golf swing that need some attention but start with this one!

Love to hear how you will go with this tip and how you are keeping your club face nice and straight!
