#191 Web TV: You MUST Do This With Your Putting Before You Play Golf

You MUST Do This With Your Putting Before You Play Golf

You know when you get the ball really close to the hole? What’s more nerve racking, standing over a putt so that you can sink the ball into the hole, you’ve only got about a metre and you’ve really got to make the putt work, or standing on the tee and actually teeing off, which is more nerve racking for you?

I see people really struggling with the short putts. I’m going to show another really cool drill that you can go and work on that will really make a big difference to finishing off your game.

Drive for show, putt for dough! This is where the dough is, putting.

This is the big area where I see people, or most people, fall down. The one metre from the hole putt. The reason for that is because it is so nerve racking, you have a lot of things going on in your head, you have to save that one shot.

Even when you are standing over the hole for a birdie, it can be just as nerve racking because you really want the birdie or you want the par, or you want to save your handicap.

Whatever it is, it is incredibly nerve racking!

I’m going to show you another easy drill for you to do and then you can go and practice it just like you did with the last one.

You’ll need five balls and I’ve placed a tee about one metre away from the hole. This is where I want you to spend a lot of time working on your line and making sure you actually sink the ball into the hole.

Make sure you sink the ball into the hole from about one metre out, consistently. Most people can’t do it consistently and I want to make sure you do it consistently.

When you are one metre back, I want you to take the time to line the ball up. Do not pull the ball across and sink, pull the ball across and sink, I want you to go through working on lining the ball up, because you are going to do that when you play anyway.

You then, or course, should make sure you are doing it when you are out here in practice mode as well.

Remember, it’s all about practicing in training yourself to focus, it will become much easier when you are out on the golf course playing in competition.

Make sure you line the ball up, get set up, and then play the putt. If the ball misses the hole we have to obviously start again, because the challenge I’m going to give you, is you need to make sure that you sink the ball in the hole and then sink ten balls in a row into the hole.

You MUST do this before you play!

Sink 10 balls in the hole in a row!
