#170 Web TV: How To Pitch Over Bunker Consistently

How To Pitch Over Bunker Consistently

See there behind me, there’s a bunker and just in front is a ball.

How do you get it over the bunker and not freak out?

I’m going to show you a really good trick on how you can get it over.

The last few weeks I have been showing you some bunker videos on how to get out of the bunker with a nice, easy, simple technique on how to do it.

Well, I’ll tell you a secret but don’t tell anyone, just keep it between you and me!

The secret is, that same technique that we were using in the bunker. You know the one, I’ll show you here, going back, through and hold, do you remember that?

Well, that’s what we are going to use to hit over the bunker as well.

I want to make sure, right now, that you do not worry about the flag. We want to treat this as a practice session and do the same thing, back, come through and hold, remember don’t swing the club around the body, just make sure that the club goes forward and work on hitting it over the bunker. That’s what practice is all about.

The other thing is to make sure you practice this technique before you go out on the course, the more practice you do the better you get.

Get set, go back, through and hold and we find that the ball goes over the bunker. Nice and simple.

If you were to play a shot and it didn’t go over the bunker but you did everything that I said to do, all it’s going to tell you is that your swing is too small. You need to do a longer swing, it’s as simple as that.

What did you think? Pretty simple, wasn’t it?

If you don’t know how to do this actual technique, just make sure you go back through the last few videos that I did on bunkers, to show you how to put it all together. When you are actually on the other side of the bunker where you have to hit the ball up and over, then that’s all you need to do.

Something really simple.

I hope you enjoyed that drill, I’d love it if you could leave a comment and share with me what you liked best about what you heard today, and if you have friends that you know would benefit from these videos, please share them so we can build the Lady Golf Teacher community as big as we possibly can, and have an awesome day.

Have an absolutely awesome day, take care, and remember; Tee it high and Let it fly.

  • Hi Cam

The best wedges to use 54, 56, 58 and 60 degree wedges. Will depend on pin placement but these ones are more effective.
