#154 Web TV: How To Hit Your Driver Straight

How To Hit Your Driver Straight

Would you like to know how to hit your driver straight down the fairway?

Today I’m going to share the most important thing to be looking for when you are actually playing your driver shot. Your tee shot, with this beautiful, lovely, big headed driver.

What I’m going to do here is to show you the most important thing you need to be looking for when you’re making contact with the ball so you can hit a straight shot with your driver.

I’ll just set the tee down for this shot and I’ll show you from this position simply so you can see what is happening with the club face. I’m not going to do a full swing, I’m just going to do a little half swing so you can see how to do it and then in another video I’ll show you from another angle on what you need to be looking for.

The most important thing that you need to make sure you are doing when playing your tee shot is to make sure that the ball is hitting the club face, making sure it is hitting the centre of the club face.

The majority of people don’t hit the centre of the club face, the ball tends to go off all sorts of directions, it hits either side, the toe, the heel, low, high and so on. We need to make sure that we are constantly hitting the centre. It’s really important.

How do we do that?

The plan is for the club to come straight back to the ball. When you do the set up with the club, you need to allow the ball to respond off the club face. You know when you see slow motion shots, when you are watching the pros and there is a close up of the driver actually making contact with the ball, what you are actually seeing is when the club comes through it hits the ball in the centre and the club keeps going straight. It doesn’t twist or anything.

What happens is when we start to lose control of the driver and the balls go all over the place is that the driver, the face is not staying straight. You want the ball to go from here to there, the it has to go nice and straight.

When we set up for this one we do a little half swing what I want you to be able to see from where you are, I know you are a little bit far away, but I will show you in an upcoming video from this angle as well so you can see it closer.

Now, doing the set up and every time we play a little half swing and you will see that my ball has gone nice and straight but you would have seen that I have taken the club straight back and straight through the shot. The thing that you want to look for, this is the secret, when you come through did the club stay nice and straight. If your club face is not staying nice and straight, the balls are going to fly off all over the place.

What did you think of that?

Well, I hope you like it and it is helping you gain some knowledge on what you need to be doing when you are hitting your driver.

It’s all about having a nice, straight club face! If the club face is twisted when you hit, it’s not going to work, that’s why they skew off.

I would love to hear from you and if you have friends that you would like to share these videos with, please do that. We want to build the lady golf teacher community as much as possible so it would be great if you could share it with your friends.

Have an absolutely awesome day, take care, and remember; Tee it high and Let it fly.
