Golf Driving Tips - Get More Distance Part 2

Last week you would have seen in a video from me all about keeping some stability with your driver swing.

We are going to take that a step further this week and I can’t wait to share with you what you have got to do with the drill I showed you last week and how you can then extend it further to help with the driver.

We are going to use the drill we were working on with the left leg having a lot of stability through the shot.

I was teaching you how to anchor and get the left side really working much better in the actual golf swing and the driver swing, or whatever club you are actually struggling with.

We are going to take it a step further and I’m going to show you how we can then implement the drill into our actual swing.

When you set yourself up I want you to go through a series of practice where you are going to do one foot only out in front, just like the drill you saw last week.

The ball is in line with your left leg and you just do a little half swing back and through, the goal is to feel the stability in the left side.

What we then do from that point is what we implement and then we go back into our normal swing... feet apart, but the thing I want you to actually feel is when you are turning through your shot I want you to feel that anchor working like it did when your left leg was forward.

It’s really important that we work from the ground up in a golf swing, not the top down.

The first shot is left foot out in front and it’s in line with the ball, do a nice little half swing and swing, back, through, hold. Make sure you are holding that position.

If you are doing it well and you are doing it right the ball will just automatically go nice and straight, that’s the bonus of it.

When you add the next ball in, what you want to make sure of here is that you get the same feel of how you finished with the left leg. When we went left leg by itself, we went through and then we held it, I want you to do the same thing with your feet apart, but notice the right knee is coming across to the left knee, which means our hips are turning. It’s really important that the hips are turning in our actual swing.

Now we are going to go feet apart.

Do our setup and recreate the same feel and then hold. The plan here is to make sure we go one leg forward, left leg forward, half swing, hold, stability.

Then we are going to go feet apart, back and through, half swing, hold, stability.

Everything else is working from down below which is what we want.

Remember, the most important part of the golf swing is the foundations. We want to make sure we have really good foundations.

We are not working from the top, trying to come down onto the ball, we are working on getting our hips working better, we are working on getting our legs better through the shot.

Have an absolutely awesome day, take care, and remember; Tee it high and Let it fly.
