How would you like to learn how to chip at hole and improve your accuracy?
Well, I’m going to show you how to do that today. I’ve got a great drill organised for you.
Improving your accuracy when you are chipping at a hole.
I am going to show you how to chip at hole with this really good drill that you can do to help improve that accuracy so that you are getting the ball finishing closer to the hole. Or, a bonus it would be if it went in.
The reason I am going to show you that is that I find when people are actually doing their chipping they are tending to get a little bit nervous and they freak out about making errors and so on. They don’t take the time or the due diligence that is required in order to perform the best possible chip shot they can. We are going to make sure that we do that.
Now, I’ll show you what to do. Working from about a metre out from the edge of the green we are going to put this little goal up. You would have seen another video of me talking about working on your accuracy in the sense of hitting the ball through a little goal area.
We are going to play from a metre out and set the two balls about your feet width apart and then you have the little goal area set up and we want to be chipping through that goal area. You can see this green has a bit of a slope, so it goes from high to low, so we do want to chip it into the higher area so that it turns towards the hole.
Now we get ourselves set. It does take a little bit of practice and a little bit of working out which is the best placed position to have our goal. I’m just showing you for demonstration purposes of what you need to do. If you need to make an adjustment to your goal you can do that. Again with your goal area you can use tees instead of balls, I’m just using balls because you can see it better.
Now, we do a little practice swing, eagle formula, tic-toc, then we get set and we perform our shot. Now what you can see here is that I was able to chip the ball through the goal area and what it did was to run down and turn so that it is not too far away from the hole.
If I was playing in a game that would give me the chance to just do a one putt, so there’s my up and down because I got the ball inside that one metre from the first putt rule that you would have seen from me before.
This is a great drill that you can actually go and use.
Work on your accuracy now, working on chipping at the hole.
Have an absolutely awesome day, take care, and remember; tee it high and let it fly.

I am never sure when to chip up or run up to the green.
What are the deciding criteria or is
either ok?
