Striving In Lockdown: Essential Habits

More than ever I believe that this is the time you must redefine your habits that will help you strive forward rather than having habits that leave you floundering in fear, anxiety, stress, sad or depressed.

We don't want to be floundering!

  • It's easy to stop.
  • It's easy to give up.
  • It's easy not to work.
  • It's easy to do nothing.

This is because we have had our purpose taken away from us and we have lost control in our sport and in our lives.

However, you can take the control back in your life and because we are starting to come out of lockdown restrictions from around the world, it will be easy to keep going with the habits we have picked up when we have been more confined.

Here are some habits you may have picked up;

  • going to bed later than normal.
  • sleeping in.
  • eating junk food alot more.
  • drinking sugary drinks.
  • not training.
  • not practicing.
  • not working on our mindset.
  • not focused on our goals.
  • being lazy in general.

Simply because we were told to stay at home. Some of use have treated it more like a holiday. But when we get into holiday mode then we get into those habits that don't serve us.

It's time to get back and re-focus!

This is what I want you to do!

  1. Identify all the habits you have developed in lockdown.

  2. For each habit ask the question - does this habit move me closer or further away from any goal?
    (if answer is further away - eliminate the habit)
    (if answer is toward - keep the habit)

  3. What new habits can you impliment to get you closer to your goal?
